Covid-19 How we are addressing the "new normal" for the safety of all our guests
At Swain House we have been working hard to prepare to welcome resident guests to our rooms and to ensure that you can enjoy our facilities. The current situation remains far from normal and therefore we have taken the following precautionary measures to ensure that we meet the current government guidelines and so we are able to protect our customers and staff in line with them. We trust that you understand the need for such adaptations to our service and are reassured that we have taken measures to keep you safe and relaxed. Our precautions will be reviewed regularly to ensure that it remains in line with government guidance.
If you feel unwell, or have any of the symptoms of Covid-19: Fever or chills, Cough, Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, Fatigue, Muscle or body aches, Headache, New loss of taste or smell, Sore throat, Congestion or runny nose, Nausea or vomiting, Diarrhea—please do not try and "come to stay anyway".
Follow government advice and self isolate. If you are ill at check-in, you will be asked to leave and seek emergency medical care.
Covid-19 Emergency Cancellation Policy
In the unfortunate circumstance of a second lockdown, or you have been told to self isolate, and you need to cancel your stay at Swain House, we will issue you with a voucher to use at Swain House another time. Or we will refund your deposit minus a £10 administration fee.
Because of social distancing issues during check-in, we ask that you please arrive at your chosen check-in time or call ahead to arrange another time so we know other guests will not be arriving all at the same time (this only needs to be a few minutes difference for your safety). We appreciate your help with this.
For your safety and the safety of our team, your luggage cannot be handled on arrival or departure.
Please return the keys to the lounge table so we can antibac them. The remainder of the stay is payable on check-out by card.
Please adhere to government guidelines on social distancing at all times. Please use the sanitise station on entering the building. Please note that as of Saturday 8th August 2020, it is illegal not to wear a facemask in all public areas of a hotel—note this does not include the privacy of your room. Guests are requested to wear face coverings in all public areas of Swain House. We ask if you could observe the 1 meter minimum distancing rule wherever possible and wear a face mask when passing through public areas where social distancing may not be possible (e.g. on the staircase).
Due to COVID-19 and social distancing activity that will be in place at Swain House, breakfast will not be served as normal—communally in the dinning room. Durning these uncertain times and the gradual ease of lockdown, breakfast will be a preordered continental style breakfast delivered to your room, to give you social distancing piece of mind throughout your stay. For a menu please have a look at the food page.
Each day at Swain House, you will be given a menu from which you can choose breakfast items and a time slot for delivery to you room as room service. Please return the form filled with your preference—if not returned, we will assume breakfast isn’t required.
Please place your breakfast tray with any additional cups, glasses etc outside you room before you go out. New cups/glasses plus a replenishment of water and milk will be left outside the door of your room at a time agreed with you, for your return.
Please leave the tray outside your room door, so we can clean and disinfect it ready for the mornings breakfast, without the tray we can’t bring you breakfast in the morning!
During your stay at Swain House, we will not enter your room. This means your room will not be turned (beds made/towels picked up from the floor). If you are staying for a prolonged period of time, after a few days, we will ask if you wish us to turn your room. To do so we request you put all of your belongings in the draws/wardrobe/your cases, so we can antibac all surfaces. We will not touch any of your belongings. We will wear PPE to clean your room in this instant.
Thank you for understand the welfare, safety, and happiness of all our guests is our priority.
